Covalent bonding is a form of chemical bonding between two non metallic atoms which is characterized by the sharing of pairs of electrons between atoms and other covalent bonds..

hope this helps

Covalent bonds are formed by the sharing of electrons between atoms.

  • Covalent bonds are formed when electron pairs are shared between atoms., Those electron pairs taking part in sharing are known as Bond pairs of electrons.

  • Those electron pairs which doesn't involve in sharing are known as Lone pairs of electrons

  • During this process, two types of covalent bonds are formed mainly Sigma bond (σ) and Pi bond (π). Single bonds are usually sigma bonds. Double and triple bonds contain one sigma bond each and one and two pi bonds respectively.

  • Atoms undergo covalent bonding mainly to complete the valence of electrons by obtaining an octet configuration.
