Cytokine barrier are of two types in humans
1) interferons 2) interluekins
Interferons are released by the infected cell to alert the surrounding other cell .
interluekins are not stored in the cell but they are secreted rapidly in response to the stimulus such as infectious agent. these are synthesized by helper CD4 T lymphocytes.
