Answer: Rotation
Explanation: Earth is like a ball which spins as well as rotates around its axis. The axis of the earth is not vertical but tilted. The axis passes through both north and south of the earth. The point in the north is called North pole while in the south it is called South pole. The earth spins around its axis in the direction from west to east. The spinning movement is called rotation.
The earth completes a single rotation in 24 hours. During rotation, the part of the earth which faces the sun get light resulting in day in those areas whereas the opposite side which does not get the sun light experience night.
Since earth takes 24 hours to complete one rotation each part of the earth experiences day and night.
