because of the following points:
It is fair to expect democracies to provide a peaceful and harmonious life.Democracies usually make out procedures to conduct their competition. This reduces the possibility of these tensions becoming explosive and violent. No society can fully and permanently solve the problems between two different social groups. But we can at least learn to respect these differences and can workout mechanism to negotiate these differences. Ability to handle social divisions and conflicts is thus a definite plus point of a democratic regime. It is necessary to understand that democracy is not simply rule by majority. the majority has to work together with the minority so that the government can function to present the general view.It is also necessary to understand that a rule by majority does not mean rule by a majority community in terms of religion, language or race etc. Rule by majority means that in case of every decision and in case of every selection, each individual should have a fair chance of coming in the majority at some point of time. Democracy remains democracy only as long as everyone has a chance to be in majority and keep their point forward.
