Answer: Desert plants like cactus are xerophytes, so in order to reduce transpiration they’re stomata remains closed during the day.

Explanation: During the day, the stomata remains closed. So, during the night , they open up their stomatas to absorb the CO2 and store them. During the day they use these stored CO2 to perform photosynthesis
