It is related to homologous organs.
Homologous organs are organs which have same embryonic structure or basic structure but perform different functions.
If we take an example of the forelimbs of a human and a bird,
humans use forelimbs for many actions like holding, throwing etc. but birds use forelimbs for flying.
So we can see that though the forelimbs have same embryonic structure, they perform different functions.
As these structures are same, it proves that when we go back to our ancestors, these forelimbs have evolved from a common ancestor, i.e,
an ancestor from whom our forelimbs are evolved from.
Hope it helps You!
