this is done by the process evaporation. For the process of photosynthesis plants need sunlight and air , which they gain through small pores called stomata. While the stomata present in leaves opens, the water present in leaves get evaporated . This is done in large amount in forest . and thus help to increase the humidity of atmosphere.
