Both generate electrical energy

In both the cells, reduction takes place on the cathode and oxidation takes place on the anode

Difference between two cells

Galvanic cell

Fuel cell

1) Chemical energy of the spontaneous redox reaction is converted into the electrical energy.

1) Converts the energy from the combustion of fuels such as H2, CO, CH4etc directly into the electrical energy

2) It is not a continuous source of energy

2) It is a continuous source of energy

3) It is not pollution free

3) It is pollution free

4) The supply of the reactants are not continuous

4) There is a continuous supply of the reactants
