When water enters the guard cell , they swell and thus cause the stomata to open and when water leaves the guard cell , it shrinks causing the stomata to close.

In stomata opening n closing is regulate by the concentration of the liqid. guard cell transferring it's water to the next cell n become flat called flaccid after removing water. n again filled with water and come close to now stomata is closed.
