how do i determine if these are congruent
Answers
Answer:
For Q1 to prove it by SAS we needed
AC = DE (given)
angle ACB = angle DCE
and BC = CE
so that by SAS triangle ABC congruent to triangle DEC.
For Q2,
We can't prove no congruence as we don't have other details, we are only given with two details that two of the sides are equal in two triangles but as no other details are not mentioned, hence we can't prove it.
Hope it helps.

I) In ΔACB & ΔDCE
Given that :
AC = DC
Angle ACB = Angle = DCE (Vertically opposite angles)
If we want these triangles to be congruent but SAS criteria , then BC should be equal to CE.
Option 3.
II) In ΔGKJ & ΔGLJ
Given that :
GK = GL
JK = KL
GJ = GJ (Common side)
They are congruent by SSS criteria.
Option 1.
