Take (x-2) as common
→ (x-2) - (x-2)^2 + ax - 2a=0
→ (x-2) [1 - (x-2)] + a(x-2)=0
→ (x-2) [1-x+2 +a]=0
→ -x +3+a=0
→ x=3+a

goldencuber: thanks, bou I had to factorize it so the ans is till 3rd line.

Hiiii,
x-2-(x-2)^2+ax-2a
▪x-2-(x-2)^2+ax-2a=0
▪Take common :
(x-2){1-(x-2)} +a(x-2)=0
▪(x-2)(1-x-2+a)=0
▪-x+3+a =0
▪x=3+a
