The Education Minister,
(Office address)
(City and Pincode)
Request to open more Primary level school at the rural areas.
Respected Sir/Madam,
I would like to bring it in your notice that the rural area lack of primary level schools. The schools are very far from the village. It takes them almost 1 hour to travel.
Many of the parents removed their children from school just because the schools were too far. Primary education is the base for the further studies. If the students continue to drop school, how will they continue their further studies. And if they don't study how can our India develop ? If there are more Primary Schools built in rurals area with cooperative staff, the children would surely excel in studies.
Kindly look into the issue and take required steps.
Sincerely,
(Your name)
Answer :-
Every district has a district education officer. As per the norms of Right to education, sarva shiksha abhiyan, etc., a minimum number of potential students and a maximum distance from habitation of a school is predetermined. If i am not wrong, a primary school has to be within 1 km of the child's house. But in practicality, as it is not feasible to have a school for every child living on a farm, it is interpreted as one primary school in each habitation, where mostkids in the area would live. Also, a school with less than 5-10 students might not be feasible even for government to run and thus is ‘rationalised’ by combining to other nearby schools.
Thus, while writing that letter, ensure that you present a clear picture of the area. How many kids live there (how many families too), where is the nearest school, what us the need of the new school (many children or current school very far away or cut off in monsoon, etc.).
Also give a copy to the district collector.
