How do intermolecular space and intermolecular force of attraction change on the changing of state of matter? Explain with the help of a suitable example.

When molecules are closest to each other it is solid and when intermolecular distance increases or intermolecular force decreases then it turns into liquid. When further more decrease in intermolecular force then intermolecular distance becomes high and it turns into a gas
