ISOTOPES Chemical species having same atomic number but different mass number

These differ by the number of neutrons in nucleus

Eg : Carbon-12 and Carbon-14

ISOBARS Chemical species having different atomic number but same mass number

These differ by the number of electrons and protons

Eg : ⁴⁰S, ⁴⁰Cl, ⁴⁰Ar, ⁴⁰K, and ⁴⁰Ca
