land - factors affect as fertile land is generally devoted to agriculture. the undulating and rough terrains are areas where grassland and woodlands develop and give shelter to wildlife. soil- different types of soil provide basis for different types of vegetation. the sandy soil support cactus, thorny bush while deltaic soil support mangrove forest. hill slopes with some depth have conical trees

There are different types of soil that are found across our country, viz. i) alluvial, ii) black, iii) lateritic, iv) forest and mountain soils, v) arid and desert soils, vi) saline and alkaline soils, and vii) peaty and marshy soils. The texture, mineral availability, alkalinity or acidity of the soil, together with the altitude and climatic factors, play a big role in determining the natural vegetation and the successful cultivation of crops in a particular type of soil. For instance, Pine trees grow only in mountainous soils and cotton is grown in regions where there is black soil.
