When metal carbonate and metal hydrogen carbonate reacts with the acid it's gives salt, carbon dioxide and water.
Na2Co3+2HCl= 2NaCl+H2O+CO2
Na2HCO3+HCl= NaCl+H2O+CO2
The has evolved during this reaction is the carbon dioxide
When carbon dioxide is passed into the lime water gives a Milky solution due to the pricipitation of an insoluble suspension of the calcium carbonate
