MNC is the abbreviation form of Multi-National Corporation or Company. An MNC is a corporate organization that holds or manages the production of goods or services in at least one country other than its own nation. There are two main characteristics of an MNC, firstly, it is larger in size and secondly, that their activities all around the world are centrally controlled by a parent company.

Following are the ways in which the MNCs expand their production:

1. They set up partnerships with the local firms for the supply of raw material.  

2. In order to buy the local companies, the MNCs are closely competing.

3. The MNCs take over the local companies with their enormous wealth potential.
