A parent plant pass on their characters to the seed in the form of genes. Genes are units of DNA that determine any trait of the offspring. A gene may have two alleles and when two recessive alleles are exhibited in homozygous condition then that trait is shown by the offspring. But in case of dominant trait it is exhibited in the offspring even in the heterozygous condition.
