How do plants get atmospheric nitrogen

There is symbiotic relationship between plant and Rizobium Bacteria.
It helps to convert the atmospheric nitrogen into a form which can be absorbed by the soil and in place of that the plant provide space for bacteria to live.
This is called nitrogen fixation.
