how do plants help keep a balance between oxygen and carbon dioxide in the air?

rikshitha: the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is maintained through respiration in plants and animals and by photosynthesis in plants .plants produce oxygen during respiration.they produce much more oxygen during photosynthesis than they consume.this is how the oxygen consumed by plants and to a large extent by animals is replenished in the air through photosynthesis is the answer

The balance of oxygen and carbondioxide is maintained in the atmosphere by the oxygen released by plants during photosynthesis and carbondioxide released by human, animals etc. in the atmosphere.

Through cellular respiration humans release carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere. This CO2 is used by plants during photosynthesis. During photosynthesis plants release oxygen (O2) into the atmosphere. The oxygen is used by animals in order to carry out cellular respiration. They cycle continues. Animals create the CO2 and plants consume it. Animals must get rid of the CO2 as it is a byproduct and is not needed. Plants help to get rid of the CO2 and convert it into O2.
