Thief is running away on a straight road in jeep moving with a speed of 9 metre per second and police man chases him on a motorcycle moving at a speed of 10 metre per second if the instantaneous separation of jeep from the motorcycle is 100 M how long will it take for the police to catch the thief ?

Relative velocity of police with respect to thief is 1m/s . So police will take 100 sec to reach the thief.

See as I have told u the relative velocity is 1M/s . Hence the police covers 1M in 1sec . To cover 100M he will take 100 sec .
