plastic can threaten marine ecosystem because fish can get entangled in plastic bags,nets,etc.and starrve to death.its attractive colours can make fish mistake plastic for food and die

plastic cannot be decomposed by microorganisms . so they remain for years.. hence they cause pollution .. if they are threw in water they release harmful chemicals which they are made up of , so it's causes pollution which affect the marine life.
