Platelets in wound healing:

The platelets are blood cells, when a blood vessel is damaged, platelets rush to the damaged parts and clots the blood. The clotting of blood takes place by two process which are adhesion and aggression. These are produced from bone morrow.

The platelets induce thrombin and fibrin which helps in the clotting process. Since, it helps in rapid healing, autologous platelets are used in eye, orthopedic, and cardiac surgery for wound healing.
