With the increasing number of settlements , there is rapid deforestation. Urbanisation and industrialization cause pollution in Milion different ways.
Sewage from households goes into the rivers if there is not proper drainage system.
Industries disposing off untreated sewage into the rivers and other water bodies
Increased use of plastic and other non bio degradable materials which are inturn left into the water bodies.
With the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers , the land is losing its natural characteristics. Besides , the over usage of these causes the chemicals to flow into the water bodies when there is rain . This causes the growth of weeds in the water and affects the aquatic life also.
Oil spills are also one of the reasons.
