• Urbanization of various cities and development of many countries along with the evolution of their industries may benefit a particular country but it is still harmful for rivers and lakes and other water sources.

• The bigger the city, the larger the population of that place which results in a lot of shopping of food and various items, that results in a large amount of plastic and other waste produced, and the waste is generally thrown, knowingly or unknowingly, near the water bodies, killing aquatic life and polluting the water body.

• The more urbanised the city, the more the number of industries and factories that generally throw up the harmful chemical waste into the water bodies.
