How do ration shops decide how much food to give to each consumer?

it is decided by number of people in a family if the number is more than ration will be given more and if number is less ration is given less but the ratio is decided by government .

It is a government decided measure. BPL people are given rations at highly subsidised rates while APL are not given at that much rate.

However, the BPL people can draw rations according to number of persons in the family. Generally, for a family of 6 persons, it is 25 kha of rations per month.
