How do root hair cells remain alive if they are under the ground and cannot photosynthesize?

root hair cells absorb essential nutrients from the soil which help them to remain alive. They can't do photosynthesis because they are present under the ground so they do not get sunlight needed for photosynthesis and sunlight is most important factor for photosynthesis
