how do solid liquid and gas different in shape and volume​

solid, liquid and gas are different in shape and volume because the molecules of solid are much close so they attract each other due to intermolecular attraction force while molecules of liquid are less close so they take the shape of container in which they are kept and the molecules of gas are free so they escape in the atmosphere.
