How do spaceships travel faster than light?

Hey mate spaceships can not travel more than the speed of light even though it seems to be travelling in a very high speed. Even the other celestial bodies like comets and meteorites don't travel at the speed of light.

because....
just think about this. if the spaceship can travel with the speed of light then we can reach to mars in about 3 . 35 minutes.( sunlight which comes from mars by reflection takes 3.35 second to reach earth and vise versa) . but actually we take around 39 days to reach mars with spaceship.
