We know that pollen grains are very light.they can be carried by the wind .Wind is the moving air.therefore the pollen grains land on the female part of other flower of the same species and pollination takes place.Some seeds such as in case of maple and drumstick are also known as winged seeds and are dispersed by air to far away places.
Wind dispersal is the process of carrying away of seeds to a new place by wind. Wind acts as an agent of pollination, a process required by flowering plants to complete their fertilisation process. In wind dispersal, the seeds which need to be carried away are supposed to be light in weight and non-sticky. This facilitates their transport in wind currents.
