During the storage of grains both biotic and abiotic factors cause lossesto the grain. Biotic factors such as insects, rodents, mites, fungi, bacteria, etc. and various abiotic factors such as moisture, temperature, lack of sunlight, etc. are responsible forlosses of grains.

hope it clarifies ur doubt dear friend..

Storage grain losses occur due to biotic and abiotic factors. The biotic factors are bacteria, fungi, mites, insects and rodents. The abiotic factors are moisture and temperature. All the above results in poor market value.
