Coriolis force is a force caused by the earths rotation that changes the direction of the wind. The Coriolis force is responsible for deflecting winds towards the right in the northern hemisphere and towards the left in the southern hemisphere. These winds are responsible for causing south west Monsoon. It is responsible for deflection of the south-east trade winds which enter the Indian peninsula as the south-west monsoon. These pick up the moisture while traveling from sea to land and cause rain once they hit the highlands of the Indian Peninsula. The following points may help you to understand this chapter better:a.
