how do the fossils form layer by layer

it is so as the dead animals and plants die and get burid on each other and form fossils.

Fossils are commonly found in sedimentary rock layers or deposits.

It is formed and comprises of soft silts and muds.

The soft sediment preserves in a remarkable way the fine details of the bones, teeth, and leaves of plants.  

Some animals were got quickly buried naturally after their death by sinking in mud or buried in a sandstorm.

Formation dinosaur fossil:

Stage 1. A dinosaur dies and is buried prior to the remains are destroyed wholly.

Stage 2. In the long span of time, layers of sediment build up and sit on down on the buried remains.

Stage 3. Dissolved minerals, transported by under ground-waters inside the sediment, fill tiny spaces remains in the bones.

Stage 4. The fossils remain underneath the rock until uncovered through erosion of cover or excavated for study.
