Enzymes are proteins in nature. Enzymes are required for process by which the growth of plants takes place. Plant's height depends on the amount of a particular plant hormones (auxins, cytokinins, gibberellins). If the genes for the enzyme have an alteration, it makes the enzyme less efficient, the amount of hormone will be less and the plant will be short and if the amount of hormone produced is more the plant will be taller.
