How do the researchers at LIGO know that they have detected a gravity wave rather than someone burping in the next room?

Well first of all they are not foolish....they are scientists for god's sake! Secondly. specially made devices, in special observatories are made in LIGO which can detect feeble ripples in the space.....gravitational wave! Burp is not a gravitational wave! It's a sound wave!
