Trees absorb sound .
------------------------------------
Due to this trees are often called noise reducers .

But they won't be that effective if not planted correctly.
It has been found out that 50% of noise can be reduced if plants are over 50feet
deep.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
But how do they stop reduce noise?

A sound is produced when an object vibrates. These vibrations are carried in the surrounding.
A tree acts as an interference in these vibrations and slows down them. Thus effectively decreasing the noise.

But the position (where the tree is planted) and the surface area ,volume of  the tree also matters. Trees won't effectively absorb noise if they don't have that much surface area to absorb sound.

All parts of the trees - trunk, roots, leaves absorb sounds.

Answer- Well, trees are good absorbers of sound. We might have heard from our elders that trees stop noise pollution, but have you ever wondered why is it so? Well, here's an answer to it.
Trees are the basic source of our amenities. They also prevent all types of pollution. But at the moment, we need to how they prevent noise pollution and absorb sound.
Trees especially tall ones, shrubs have a good masking effect. They act as sound barriers and absorb all the sound and noise. Their dimensions help in reducing and absorbing of the noise present.
So, in this way, we can say, trees absorb sound.
