Velocity is the ratio of displacement of an object per unit time, in a direction.
In other words, velocity as a vector quantity, is the ratio of the diplacement (distance with direction; hence it is also a vector quantity) of an object per unit time (time taken for the displacement of the object).
Its SI unit is same as speed, i.e., meters per second (m/s).
Its CGS unit is also same as speed, i.e., centimeters per second (cm/s).
Its formula is:
Velocity (v)=Displacement (S)/ Time (t)
