Smoking is a major cause for heart attack. The nicotine present in the cigarettes actually reduces the oxygen flow to the heart and this might lead to a fatal heart attack. Nicotine also speeds up the heart beat and sometimes creates blood clots and this might be a reason for heart attack.

Answer:

How does smoking increase my risk of heart and circulatory diseases? Smoking cigarettes makes the walls of your arteries sticky from the chemicals, so fatty material can stick to them. If the arteries that carry blood to your heart get damaged and clogged, it can lead to a heart attack
