Well, you could just use some apps to find the pole star. But, if you want to find it by natural means, there are 3 methods. I will try my best to explain them.
1. Find the constellation Big Dipper. It is a constellation consisting of 7 stars and this constellation looks like a bowl and a handle. Look at the bright stars which are farthest from the handle. These are the pointer stars. Imagine a line connecting those stars and then extend that line 4-5 times the distance between the pointer stars. You will reach a bright star. That is pole star.
2. Find the Big Dipper and look a little higher in the sky. You will find the constellation Little Dipper which looks like the mirror image of Big Dipper. Find the tip of the handle of the Little Dipper. That is pole star.
3. Find the Cassiopeia constellation. It consists of 5 star and it looks like a 'W' or 'M'. Look at the three stars in the middle of the constellation and think of it as an arrow. Follow the direction of the arrow forward and you will reach a bright star. That is pole star.
Hope that you understand the explanation... (^_^)'
