Before studying a society, it is important to understand the term 'society'. A society is a group of people living together in the same geographical location or territory and subject to follow same political leader and experience almost same cultural expectations.

So in order to study the society, it is essential to study the behavior, characteristics of the people. By understanding their social inclination and behavioral changes it is easy to understand the society they live in. This is one of the methods to study the society. 

It is also possible to understand the society by learning its history and the way people used to live earlier in that society. This awareness also throws more light about the society that you would want to understand.

Attempt to be a listener.

While everybody is busy in speaking, pay devotion to them, list each and every word they say, attempt to figure out their purpose/feeling behind the object.

Central thing is to get behind the feeling that causes somebody to do something or say something, with a good number of interpretations like this, you will get a pattern which will be alike across a range of very dissimilar people, and then you can figure out the way we conduct yourself.

It might be amazing to find out that most of us act the same in parallel kind of circumstances irrespective of where we fit or where we are from. Our way of articulating the things might be dissimilar but the feeling behind stays the similar
