the lowest resistance is obtained when we join the resistors in parallel
therefore , R1 =4ohm. R2=12ohm
1/4+1/12=1/Rp
3+1/12=1/Rp
1/3=1/Rp
Rp=3ohm
therefore the lowest resistance will be 3 ohm
