Acetaldehyde gives red percipitate(ppt) on heating with Fehling's solution whereas acetone does not.

 CH_3CHO + 2CuO(present\: in\: Fehling's\: solution) ---)

CH_3COOH + Cu_2O(red \:ppt)

NOTE : This reaction takes place under the presence of heat energy and a red percipitate is formed as one of the products.
