Explanation:

Lateral inversion means the reversal of image i.e. left side of the object to appear right side in image and right side of the object appear left side in the image. For example letter, 'b' and its image formed by a plane mirror is 'd' (lateral inversion).

in lateral inversion ,left side of the object will appear to be right of the image and right side of the object will appears to the left of the image.

this can be showed by using figure by drawing the ray diagram of image formation by a plane mirror,which u can get from book of science from class 7.
