The role of the teachers have changed as before the teacher would follow the 'centric approach' which is also referred as sage on the sage...
But nowadays, teacher have become a guide by the side...
A sage on the stage is synonymous with one sided approach of learning in which, a standard lecture is considered to be the standard mode of delivery.. on the Other hand, we have teachers now who take us to the new world of learning by taking pains... In the olden times, students were expected to listen, make notes, memorise and give the test..Such teaching was not helpful as the children did not understand learning... But, every cloud had a silver lining... We can learn from olden times that teacher centric approach would only be memorised by good and excellent students only, and this helped in inculcating thinking skills... Hope my answer helps!!!
