Answer: The ancient guru had mastered their mind and they had better experience and wisdom through ancient vedas (which is 5000+ old). Ancient gurus passed their wisdom to the next generations.
Ancient gurus were able to contact with the God by chanting the Holy name deeply so they also get downloads from the God and use that to serve the world and make the world a better place.
