To find the nearest whole number, you'd round it based off of the tenths place. The rule is that if it is 4 or lower, you round down, and if it's 5 or above, you round up. In this case, 5.824 would round up to 6, as 8, which is in the tenths place, is higher than 5.

I hope this is helpful! :)

Hey Friend

When rounding to the nearest whole number we must keep two things in mind :

✔ If the number after our main focus number is 5 or higher we round to the next while number.

✔ If the number after our main focus number is lower than 5 we round to the previous whole number.

Example

4.65 Rounded to the nearest whole number is 5.

3.567 Rounded to the nearest whole number is 3 or 4.

13.378 Rounded to the nearest whole number is 12.

Question & Answer

5.824 Rounded to the nearest whole number is 6.

NB.

Sometimes if the number after the main focus number is 5, persons prefer to leave it the same way. Whether you round it off or leave it the same way it's not incorrect.

Hope it helps ☺☺☺
