How do you find the solution of 2x + 4y = 8 and x + 4y = 6?

Solution:

Given 2x+4y=8

Divide each term by 2 ,we get

=> x + 2y = 4 ----(1)

and

x+4y = 6 ---(2)

subtract (1) from (2) , we get

=> 2y = 2

=> y = 2/2 = 1

put y=1 in equation (1),we get

=> x+2×1 = 4

=> x = 4-2

=> x = 2

Therefore,

x = 2

y = 1
