When the subcontinent pangea had divided and form thethy sea. It was again attract towards each other and make a fold and push over one another. At that time the Himalayas was formed after volcanic activities and movement of plates.

This theory is proved by many scientist because they had found the bones of aquatic animals on the Himalayas.

All the other mountains are formed before the partition of pangea so Himalayas is a young mountain.

I hope you have understood.

Answer:

The Himalayas are known as the young fold mountains because they have been formed only few million years ago. They were formed because of the folding of the earth's crust due to tectonic activity (fold mountains are formed when two tectonic plates collide with one another).
