patol babu is portrayed as a perfectionist in the story by satyajit ray as even though he is offered a small role in the movie he still does his work with great dedication and sincerity just like his mentor gogon pakrashi asked him to. he believes that no work is small , each and every one has its own significance. patol babu is not only loyal to his work , but he does it with great perfection. he could feel the essence of his role and could give a meaning to just a simple word . at the end of the shooting of his scene , he is complemented by not only the director but the main actor as well. his sincerity and devotion to his work is clearly depicted at the end of the story when he goes back without even taking his money for doing his job .
