how do you prove experimentally that heating calcium carbonate is a decomposition reaction

Hello,

Here's the answer :-

CaCO3 --(heat)--> CaO + CO2

According to given reaction, the compound breaks up into two substances in the syntax :-

AZ --> A + Z

Which is for decomposition reaction.

Hence it is proved to be a decomposition reaction.

calcium carbonate CaCO3 on heating gives calcium oxide CaO and carbon dioxide CO2 which goes in air.
And CaO on desolved in water to give limewater i.e calcium hydroxide CaOH.
And also we know that the splitting of compound to form various compound is known as decomposition reaction. As it decompose to give several compound.
